Rediscovering Motivation: My Journey from Burnout to Renewal

Introduction

I am a very active person, from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM, I am always on the go. Last week I caught the flu and strep at the same time. I was miserable.

Fitness is a great way for me to work off any stress and gain my motivation back. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to work out all week.

The Setback: Being Home Sick

Although I had five days at home, those 5 days were not good at all. I told myself I was going to finish editing some video and photos for rodsstudio.com , I didn't.

As I previously mentioned, I am usually pretty active, so being home sick without working or socializing had me semi depressed. The thought of not being able to do anything had me home sick.

Being sick can suck, I lack motivation and discipline. Things that I plan on getting back!

Realization: Understanding Burnout

I'm actually pretty big on mental health. I always strive to keep my mind healthy and at peace. During those times I can focus on everything that needs to get done without any setbacks.

A big sign of burnout for me is when my body just wants to shut down. Doesn't matter how many Celsius I had or how much coffee. My body automatically wants me to sleep.

When it comes time, I just give in and fall sleep. I turn off all alarms and give my body that rest that it needs.

Turning Point: The Role of Fitness

Once I am fully recovered from my burnout. I hit the gym, and I hit the gym hard! Upon recovering, my body feels brand new, even thought I was out of the gym for a while, my recovered body just feels amazing.

I become overly lazy when I am sick and burnout, The first day that I feel good, I am back running 120%!

Lifting weights always gets me fired up. I feel like I can do anything right after. That's my drug, my medicine for a better life.

Getting Back on My Feet

First thing is first, I love working upper body, however, lately I enjoy pushing my legs thru a great leg workout.

To be real, coming back from being sick or overall being out from working out, even if it's been only one week. Can have tremendous impact on your body and how you should work out on your first day back.

You got to listen to your body! As much and I am excited to get back to working out on a regular schedule. I have to take my time. Maybe I can knock out a full body workout instead of a intense chest or leg workout.

Rebuilding Motivation

Music is always my go to when I am lacking motivation. A good cold Celsius and some good old hip hop and trap music turned all the way up on my camera usually does the trick.

I am not too big on socializing but it's always good to have someone to talk to. Even if it has nothing to do with fitness.

For 2025, I said I was going to vlog my life more, all the BTS and everything including this blog post will be featured on my youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/@LIFEOFRODRIGO

Reflection: Lessons Learned

As much as I would love to do a million things throughout the day, I have to realize that not everything will get done, and I am okay with that.

As long as I have quality family time and have done at least 80% of my work that day including my workout. I am happy!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading or viewing this blog / vlog. I hope you stay dedicated to your crafts and understand that there will always be setbacks. All you can do is ride the wave and when you're ready, take control again.
